George Springer belted a grand slam in the fourth inning to highlight his three-hit performance, fueling the Toronto Blue Jays to an 11-0 romp over a New York Yankees split squad on Thursday in Dunedin, Fla.
Daulton Varsho launched a solo homer in the first inning and joined Springer with three of the Blue Jays’ 14 hits.
Andres Gimenez added a two-run shot in the fifth and Cody Ponce allowed just one hit and struck out five in 5 2/3 innings.
Amed Rosario collected two of the three hits for the Yankees.

Garrett Martin belted a solo homer in the ninth inning and Roderick Arias scored on a game-ending sacrifice fly as a New York split squad rallied past a Baltimore split squad in Tampa.
Giancarlo Stanton launched a solo homer and added a sacrifice fly for the Yankees.
Coby Mayo hit a two-run homer, RJ Austin ripped an RBI double and Adley Rutschman had a run-scoring single for the Orioles.
Phillies 8, Rays 2
Otto Kemp launched a three-run shot as Philadelphia slugged three homers en route to cruising past Tampa Bay in Clearwater, Fla.
Bryson Stott belted a two-run shot for his third homer of the spring, and Adolis Garcia also went deep for the Phillies.
Ryan Vilade and Alfonzo Martinez each hit a solo homer in the fifth inning for the Rays.
Cardinals 5, Nationals 1
Dakota Harris had a two-run single in the third inning and scored on Trey Paige’s two-run homer in the eighth, propelling St. Louis past Washington in Jupiter, Fla.
Nelson Velazquez had an RBI single in the first inning and joined Alec Burleson in recording two of the Cardinals’ 10 hits.
Brady House had two hits and Luis Garcia Jr. scored on a groundout in the second inning for the Nationals.
Orioles (ss) 5, Pirates 2
Samuel Basallo continued his hot spring, going 3-for-3 with two home runs and three RBIs while leading a Baltimore split squad to a victory over visiting Pittsburgh in Sarasota, Fla.
Basallo, who is batting .375 with three homers and 10 RBIs, drilled a solo shot in the first and belted a two-run blast in the third to give the Orioles a 5-0 lead. Trevor Rogers scattered seven hits over 5 1/3 innings of two-run ball, striking out seven and walking none.
Bryan Reynolds went 2-for-3 with an RBI single for the Pirates. Former Oriole Ryan O’Hearn drove in Pittsburgh’s other run.
Red Sox 4, Twins 2
Starter Brayan Bello delivered six scoreless innings of three-hit ball, notching seven strikeouts with no walks to guide Boston over visiting Minnesota in Fort Myers, Fla.
Ceddanne Rafaela ripped a two-run single, Willson Contreras delivered an RBI double and Trevor Story added an RBI single to pace the Red Sox’s offense, which had nine hits but stranded nine baserunners.
Two of Boston’s four errors resulted in Minnesota’s two late runs, but Tayron Guerrero notched the final out for his fourth save. Kody Clemens had two hits for the Twins.
Mets 6, Astros 2
Backed by early run support, Kodai Senga blanked host Houston for four innings, allowing three hits and fanning four as New York prevailed in West Palm Beach, Fla.
Luis Robert Jr. went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, both coming on a double that gave the Mets a 5-0 lead in the fifth. Fellow newcomer Bo Bichette went 2-for-2 and scored two runs. Another new face, Marcus Semien, chipped in with two RBIs.
Astros starter Peter Lambert permitted three runs in 3 1/3 innings, and reliever Ryan Weiss gave up three runs in just two-thirds of an inning. Yordan Alvarez and Brice Matthews each notched two hits, including an RBI single apiece.
White Sox (ss) 4, Diamondbacks 2
A Chicago split-squad scored three times in the sixth and rallied past Arizona in Glendale, Ariz.
Chase Meidroth, who went 2-for-3, hit a two-out, two-run single that turned a 2-1 deficit into a 3-2 lead. Davis Martin got the start and allowed two earned runs on two hits and four walks in 4 2/3 innings.
The Diamondbacks scored twice in the first inning. Jorge Barrosa increased his spring average to .324 with a pair of hits in three at-bats. Starter Michael Soroka was outstanding, allowing no runs on one hit and one walk, while fanning eight in five innings.
Guardians 6, Royals (ss) 5
Jose Ramirez and Kyle Manzardo hit early home runs and Cleveland rallied in the late innings to defeat a Kansas City split squad in Goodyear, Ariz.
Ramirez hit a solo shot in the second and Manzardo added a three-run blast an inning later. Carter Kieboom collected the go-ahead RBI single in the eighth. Starting pitcher Parker Messick allowed four earned runs on seven hits in 5 2/3 innings.
The Royals blasted four solo home runs, including a shot by Connor Scott to give the visitors a short-lived 5-4 lead in the seventh. Southpaw Noah Cameron produced similar numbers to Messick, permitting four earned runs on five hits and two walks in 4 1/3 innings.
Angels 4, Royals (ss) 3
Lucas Ramirez, son of 12-time All-Star Manny Ramirez, drove in two runs in the late innings to rally Los Angeles past a Kansas City split squad in Surprise, Ariz.
Ramirez, 20, tripled in Tucker Flint in the eighth and came around to score the tying run on a throwing error on the play. He then singled home Flint as the go-ahead run in the ninth. Both minor leaguers went 2-for-2. Starter Yusei Kicuchi allowed one run in 4 2/3 innings.
Lane Thomas, playing with his third club in three seasons, hit a solo home run off Kicuchi in the first. Royals starter Kris Bubic lowered his spring ERA to 0.75 by allowing an unearned run on one hit over four scoreless innings.
Mariners 6, Athletics 4
Seattle scored six times in the seventh inning and defeated the Athletics in Mesa, Ariz.
Cal Raleigh delivered the key blow, clearing the bases with a two-out double for a 6-3 lead. The Mariners had already scored three times in the inning. Veteran reliever Dane Dunning got the win by holding the Athletics to one run in three innings.
The Athletics scored three runs in the fourth as Shea Langeliers (double) and Brett Rooker (single) produced RBIs. Aaron Civale, trying to land a spot in the rotation, fanned 11 Mariners in six innings of shutout ball.
Brewers 11, Rangers 4
A potent Milwaukee lineup scored seven times in the third inning and coasted past Texas in Phoenix.
Christian Yelich capped the uprising with a two-out, three-run homer. Gary Sanchez and Luis Rengifo also went deep for the Brewers. Pitcher Brandon Woodruff, who has struggled with injuries the past two seasons, went the first three innings and allowed three earned runs, including two long balls.
Texas’ Ezequiel Duran and Mark Canha hit back-to-back homers in the fourth and Tyler Wade went 2-for-3 with two runs. Swingman Jacob Latz allowed nine runs (seven earned) in three innings in a starting role.
Padres 13, White Sox (ss) 6
San Diego scored seven times in the eighth inning to break open a tie and wallop a Chicago split squad in Peoria, Ariz.
Jake Cronenworth hit a bases-clearing double to break a 6-6 tie and Ty France blasted a three-run homer to cap the eighth. Gavin Sheets went 3-for-5 with a two-run shot. Michael King (10.19 ERA) continued his spring difficulties, allowing six earned runs and 11 baserunners in five innings.
Lamonte Wade Jr. hit a pair of home runs and drove in three off King. Curtis Mead also went deep for the White Sox.
Giants 14, Rockies 11
San Francisco banged out 19 hits, including eight for extra bases, and outslugged Colorado in Scottsdale, Ariz.
The Giants trailed 5-1 after two innings, but scored eight runs in their final three at-bats. Jerar Encarnacion drove in a pair in the seventh and Jared Oliva and Eric Haase plated two apiece in the eighth. Logan Webb had a rocky start, allowing six earned runs in 4 1/3 innings.
Willi Castro hit a solo homer for the Rockies and Hunter Goodman drove in a pair with a second-inning double. Starter Tomoyuki Sugano allowed one unearned run in three innings, but the Colorado bullpen gave up 13 runs on 15 hits.
