The Colorado Rockies put right-hander German Marquez on the 15-day injured list and recalled hot-hitting Nolan Jones from Triple-A on Wednesday.

Marquez, 28, has inflammation in his right forearm. He is 2-1 with a 4.41 ERA in three starts this season, striking out 13 and walking two batters in 16 1/3 innings.

The former All-Star is 65-55 with a 4.40 ERA in 175 career games (172 starts) since making his debut with Colorado in 2016.

Jones, 24, is batting .359 with a 1.351 OPS through 10 games at Albuquerque. He has driven in 14 runs, and his 14 hits include six homers and two doubles.

Defensively, he has already started games at first base, third base, left field, right field and designated hitter.

Jones made his MLB debut with the Cleveland Guardians last season and batted .244 with two homers and 13 RBIs in 28 games. He was traded to the Rockies on Nov. 15 for infield prospect Juan Brito.
