Major League Baseball will hold its 2025 draft lottery on Tuesday, with the Colorado Rockies and Miami Marlins owning the best chance of winning the No. 1 overall pick.

MLB announced Thursday that the draft lottery, to be held at baseball’s winter meetings in Dallas, will include 16 clubs vying for the No. 1 pick.

The Rockies and Marlins each have a 22.5 percent chance of getting the top selection, with their odds of landing in the top six at 92.4 percent.

The Los Angeles Angels have an 18 percent chance at the No. 1 pick (88.1 percent top six), followed by the Washington Nationals at 10.2 percent (71.8 percent).

The Toronto Blue Jays hold a 7.5 percent chance of gaining the first overall draft pick, followed by the Pittsburgh Pirates at 5.3 percent (60.6 percent and 47.9 percent for a top-six selection, respectively).

Teams with a 3.7 percent chance or less of gaining the No. 1 pick, in order, are the Cincinnati Reds, Texas Rangers, San Francisco Giants, Tampa Bay Rays, Boston Red Sox, Minnesota Twins, St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, Seattle Mariners and Arizona Diamondbacks.

The 2025 MLB Draft is scheduled for July 13 in Atlanta.

Players at the top of teams’ draft boards include shortstop Ethan Holliday, an Oklahoma State commit who is the younger brother of Jackson Holliday, selected No. 1 overall in 2022 by the Baltimore Orioles. College outfielders Jace LaViolette (Texas A&M) and Cam Cannarella (Clemson) also should be selected early.
