The Mets are expected to recall left-hander Joey Lucchesi from Triple-A Syracuse to start Wednesday’s road game against the Philadelphia Phillies, MLB.com and the New York Post reported Tuesday.

According to the New York Post, the Mets will also designate infielder Joey Wendle and right-hander Yohan Ramirez for assignment. Infielder Mark Vientos will be recalled from Syracuse.

Lucchesi, 30, is 2-1 with a 2.58 ERA in seven starts for Syracuse this season. In five major league seasons, Lucchesi is 23-24 with a 4.07 ERA in 79 appearances (75 starts). He missed the 2022 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery.

Vientos, 24, has 84 games of experience with the Mets over the past three seasons, batting .211 with 11 home runs and 27 RBIs.

Wendle, 34, was batting .235 across 17 games in his first season with New York. He is a career .262 hitter over nine seasons with four different clubs.

Ramirez, 29, has already pitched for the Mets and Baltimore Orioles this season, going a combined 0-1 with a 7.43 ERA in nine relief appearances. In five major league seasons with six different teams, he is 6-5 with a 4.33 ERA in 111 relief appearances.
