The Toronto Blue Jays and free agent infielder/outfielder Isiah Kiner-Falefa are in agreement on a two-year contract worth $15 million, multiple outlets reported Wednesday.
The deal is pending a physical and includes $1 million in incentives, per the reports. Kiner-Falefa played on a one-year contract worth $6 million with the New York Yankees in 2023.
Kiner-Falefa, 28, spent the past two seasons in New York but was limited to 113 games in 2023. He hit .242 with six home runs and 37 RBIs.
Primarily a shortstop, Kiner-Falefa played outfield for the first time in his career this past season, appearing in 78 games at all three outfield spots for the Yankees. He appeared in another 31 games at third base.
He is a lifetime .261 hitter with 26 homers and 203 RBIs in 647 games across six seasons with the Texas Rangers (2018-21) and Yankees. He won a Gold Glove at third base in 2020.
