Veteran right-hander Hunter Strickland will not make the Cincinnati Reds’ Opening Day roster, as he was released from his minor league contract Saturday.

Strickland, 34, pitched 66 games in relief for the Reds last season, going 3-3 with a 4.91 ERA. The veteran of nine major league seasons with eight different teams, is 22-21 with a 3.41 ERA in 408 career relief appearances.

The move makes Strickland a free agent eligible to sign with any club.

Veteran infielder Chad Pinder was released from his minor league contract by the Reds on Friday, while right-hander Chase Anderson will accept his assignment to minor league camp.

Pinder, 30, has seven seasons of experience with the Oakland Athletics.

Anderson, 35, has nine seasons of big league experience, going 2-4 with a 6.38 ERA in nine appearances (seven starts) with the Reds last season.
