The Tampa Bay Rays placed right-hander Andrew Kittredge on the 60-day injured list Thursday and purchased the contract of right-hander Trevor Kelley.
Kittredge, 32, continues to recover from Tommy John surgery last year, with the extended IL move expected.
He went 3-1 with five saves in 17 relief appearances last season with a 3.15 ERA, and he is 16-7 with 14 saves in 167 career appearances (15 starts) with a 3.68 ERA in six seasons for the Rays. Kittredge was an All-Star in 2021.
Kelley, 30, joined the Rays after he went 1-0 with a 6.08 ERA in 18 relief appearances for the Milwaukee Brewers last season. In three seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies, Boston Red Sox and Brewers, he is 1-3 with a 7.13 ERA in 32 relief appearances.
Kelley was signed to a minor league deal with the Rays last month and received an invitation to big league camp.
