Dylan Carlson’s one-out RBI single in the 12th inning helped the Tampa Bay Rays overcome a blown six-run lead and sweep the Arizona Diamondbacks with an 8-7 win Sunday afternoon in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Carlson’s liner to left scored Alex Jackson and handed Justin Martinez (5-4) his second loss of the three-game series. Edwin Uceta (1-0) earned his first career win with a scoreless 12th.

Brandon Lowe had two hits, including a two-run homer. Christopher Morel was 2-for-4 with a double, two runs and a walk. Jose Caballero had a two-run double, a run and three stolen bases, giving him an American League-leading 35.

After opener Drew Rasmussen retired all six batters he faced, Tyler Alexander tossed 5 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on five hits while fanning five with two walks.

The Rays were perfect in stolen bases, going 7-for-7.

Yandy Diaz (left forearm contusion) was removed in the first inning after being struck by Arizona starter Merrill Kelly with a 90-mph sinker. Morel came in to run for Diaz.

Arizona’s Corbin Carroll had two hits, including a two-run homer, and Adrian Del Castillo swatted a three-run shot.

Kelly yielded six runs and eight hits in five-plus innings, including four strikeouts, two walks and a hit batter, as the Diamondbacks lost their third straight to begin a nine-game road trip.

After Morel opened the third by doubling off the left field wall, Lowe crushed a 405-foot homer to right after falling behind 0-2 for his 16th blast of the season.

Following one-out singles by Morel and Lowe in the fifth, they both moved up on a wild pitch and scored on a double by Caballero.

After Caballero swiped third, Junior Caminero made it 5-0 by topping an RBI single that Kelly wildly hurled down the right field line for a two-base error.

In the sixth, Jonny DeLuca stole two bases and Taylor Walls added one before reliever Joe Mantiply tossed a wild pitch for a 6-0 lead.

Held hitless through six frames by Rasmussen and Alexander, the Diamondbacks ended it with Carroll’s leadoff looping single over shortstop Walls and loaded the bases with no outs.

However, Alexander worked out of the jam, allowing just a sacrifice fly by Jake McCarthy.

Carroll touched Alexander with a two-run blast to make it 6-3 in the eighth, his 13th, and Del Castillo hit a one-out, three-run shot off closer Pete Fairbanks in the ninth, his second, to tie it 6-all.

Arizona All-Star second baseman Ketel Marte reinjured his left ankle while pinch-hitting in the ninth. Marte, who returned from a sprained left ankle on Saturday, was replaced by Joc Pederson.

Each team scored a run in the 10th.
