The Texas Rangers received a sterling performance from starting pitcher Jacob Latz and benefitted from a 10th-inning reversal of a call at the plate to beat the host Baltimore Orioles 6-5 on Tuesday night.

The Rangers scored in the top of the 10th on Sam Haggerty’s one-out fielder’s choice, with Evan Carter scoring on a play that was overturned on replay review.

Latz took a no-hitter into the seventh inning. He was charged with two runs on one hit and three walks. Luke Jackson (2-4) was the winning pitcher and Robert Garcia survived despite a runner at third base with one out in the 10th to notch his sixth save.

Carter, Corey Seager and Josh Jung all had two hits for the Rangers.

Gary Sanchez, Ramon Urias and Ryan O’Hearn hit consecutive home runs in the seventh inning and the Orioles rallied into a short-lived 5-4 lead.

Seranthony Dominguez (2-2) took the loss.

Latz, whose previous career-high workload was 5 2/3 innings, finished with four strikeouts. The left-hander made 15 of his 16 previous appearances this year out of the bullpen.

Orioles starter Charlie Morton gave up three runs on four hits in five innings. Keegan Akin and Gregory Soto were both charged with one run.

Texas threatened in the ninth when Seager led off with a single and stole second base, but Felix Bautista notched a pair of strikeouts and escaped unscathed.

Latz walked two in the first five innings, but because of a double play he faced only 16 batters during that stretch.

The Rangers scored three times in the fourth inning, beginning with Carter’s run-scoring single before Jung’s fielder’s choice grounder and Alejandro Osuna’s sacrifice fly. They stranded runners at second and third.

Latz lost the no-hit bid when Ramon Laureano led off the bottom of the seventh with a single. Gunnar Henderson followed with a walk, ending the outing for Latz. Chris Martin entered in relief, giving up a three-run home run to Sanchez on his third pitch.

Urias and O’Hearn followed with long balls. The Orioles scored five runs in the seventh before an out was recorded.

The Rangers got even in the eighth on pinch hitter Jonah Heim’s sacrifice fly.
