Andrew McCutchen and Rodolfo Castro homered and finished with two hits each, and the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the host Colorado Rockies 14-3 in Denver on Wednesday.

Jason Delay and Connor Joe each had three hits, and Carlos Santana, Ke’Bryan Hayes and Mark Mathias had two hits apiece for Pittsburgh, which swept the three-game series.

Johan Oviedo (2-1) allowed a run on three hits and struck out six in six innings for the win.

Ryan McMahon had three hits for Colorado, which has lost eight straight and five in a row at home.

Rockies closer Daniel Bard was activated from the 15-day injured list before the game and pitched one inning of relief.

The Pirates batted around against Colorado starter Austin Gomber in the first inning.

Hayes led off with a double, McCutchen drove him in with a double one out later and scored on a single by Santana. Joe followed with an RBI double to make it 3-0. Mathias and Jack Suwinski had back-to-back walks to load the bases and Delay singled to left to make it 5-0.

Pittsburgh kept it going in the second.

McCutchen homered, his second of the series and fourth of the season, and Santana walked and went to third on Joe’s single. Castro drove in Santana with a single and Joe scored on a double by Mathias. Suwinski extended the lead to 9-0 with a sacrifice fly.

Gomber (0-4) allowed nine runs on nine hits and walked three in two innings.

The Rockies scored in the fourth when Kris Bryant led off with a walk and eventually scored on a sacrifice fly by Mike Moustakas.

The Pirates padded their lead in the sixth on Castro’s 458-foot homer to center field, his second of the season. Castro finished with four RBIs.

Harold Castro, who drove in Colorado’s second run in the eighth, pitched the ninth inning and gave up two runs. He was the Rockies’ second position player to pitch in the series; Alan Trejo pitched the ninth on Monday night.

McMahon had an RBI double in the ninth.
