Alec Bohm homered to lead off the sixth inning and Kyle Schwarber did the same in the seventh, helping lift the host Philadelphia Phillies to a 7-2 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday.

Philadelphia’s Garrett Stubbs had a two-run double and Schwarber added a go-ahead RBI double in the second. Bohm and Bryce Harper each had two hits and scored twice for the Phillies, who have won three of their last four games.

Cristopher Sanchez (2-3) improved to 2-0 in his last three outings after allowing two runs on five hits while striking out six without a walk in six innings. He retired the last 12 batters he faced, and three relievers combined to get the final nine outs without surrendering a hit or a walk.

St. Louis’ Paul Goldschmidt belted a two-run homer to the opposite field in the first inning. Nolan Arenado exited in the seventh with lower back tightness for the Cardinals, who have lost seven of their last nine games.

Miles Mikolas (6-10) dropped to 0-5 in his last six starts after permitting five runs on eight hits in six innings.

Goldschmidt’s 21st homer of the season staked St. Louis to an early 2-0 lead before Philadelphia answered with three doubles in the second off Mikolas.

Bohm ripped a one-out double and advanced to third on Brandon Marsh’s single before both players scored after Stubbs fisted a double just inside the left-field line. Stubbs came home after Schwarber ripped a ground-rule double, with the ball briefly being lodged in the outfield fence, that gave the Phillies a 3-2 advantage.

Stott’s sacrifice fly plated Harper in the third and Bohm extended Philadelphia’s lead to 5-2 after sending a 2-1 sinker from Mikolas over the wall in left-center field. The homer was the career-high 14th of the season for Bohm.

Schwarber greeted Andrew Suarez by depositing a 3-1 sinker over the wall in right-center field. The homer was his team-leading 35th of the season and fifth in seven games.

Harper legged out a triple later in the seventh and scored on Nick Castellanos’ double to cap the scoring.

Nine of Philadelphia’s 11 hits went for extra bases.
