Philadelphia Phillies star shortstop Trea Turner will be reinstated from the 10-day injured list on Monday, manager Rob Thomson confirmed.
Thomson said Sunday that Turner would be activated “unless something weird happens.”
Turner, 30, has been sidelined since May 4 with a left hamstring strain.
Edmundo Sosa has filled in for the injured Turner, who was hitting .343 with two homers, nine RBIs and 10 stolen bases through the team’s first 33 games.
A two-time All-Star and the 2021 National League batting champion, Turner is a career .298 hitter with 152 homers and 519 RBIs in 1,037 games for the Washington Nationals (2015-21), Los Angeles Dodgers (2021-22) and Phillies.
Turner signed an 11-year, $300 million contract with the Phillies after the 2022 season.
The Phillies will begin a six-game homestand Monday against the San Diego Padres and Arizona Diamondbacks.
