The Philadelphia Phillies acquired outfielder Austin Hays from the Baltimore Orioles on Friday for right-hander Seranthony Dominguez and outfielder Cristian Pache.
Hays, 29, batted .255 with three homers and 14 RBIs in 63 games this season.
He was the starting center fielder for the American League in the 2023 All-Star Game. He is a career .262 hitter with 66 homers and 242 RBIs in 557 games with the Orioles.
Dominguez, 29, posted a 3-2 record with one save and a 4.75 ERA in 38 relief appearances this season. He is 19-17 with 28 saves and a 3.55 ERA in 230 career games in relief with the Phillies.
Pache, 25, batted .202 with nine RBIs in 50 games this season. He is a career .179 hitter with six homers and 42 RBIs in 213 games with the Atlanta Braves (2020-21), Oakland Athletics (2022) and Phillies.
The Orioles designated right-hander Vinny Nittoli for assignment to open a spot on the 40-man roster for Dominguez, who was available to pitch Friday. Pache was also available after reporting to the Orioles.
The Phillies also reinstated right-hander Michael Rucker from the 60-day injured list. He opened the season on the 15-day IL with a right hand arterial vasospasm and was transferred to the 60-day IL on June 3.
Rucker, 30, pitched for the Chicago Cubs from 2021-23 and posted a 5-2 record with a 4.96 ERA and one save in 96 relief appearances.
