Corbin Burnes tossed seven shutout innings, Gunnar Henderson blasted his 37th home run and the visiting Baltimore Orioles topped the Detroit Tigers 4-2 on Saturday night.

Burnes (14-8) gave up two hits, walked one and struck out seven for the Orioles (84-65). Henderson had two hits, scored two runs and knocked in a pair, while Cedric Mullins supplied two hits and an RBI.

Parker Meadows started a two-run rally in the ninth for Detroit (76-73) with a solo homer. Colt Keith had three hits and scored the Tigers’ other run.

Beau Brieske served as the Tigers’ opener for the second straight night. He walked the first two batters he faced, then induced a double-play grounder from Anthony Santander. Adley Rutschman then struck out, stranding the runner at third.

With Ty Madden (1-1) on the mound in the third, the Orioles took the lead. Henderson had a two-out double before Mullins lined an RBI single to center.

Baltimore threatened in the sixth against Sean Guenther when Mullins and Santander had consecutive singles. A double play and a groundout allowed Guenter to keep the score at 1-0.

The Orioles extended their lead in the seventh. Kenta Maeda hit Emmanuel Rivera with a pitch and Livan Soto doubled to right to put runners in scoring position. James McCann’s sacrifice fly scored Rivera. Henderson made it 4-0 when he lined a Maeda breaking pitch over the right field wall.

Keith led off the bottom of the inning with a single but advanced only to second as Burnes set down the next three batters.

Detroit turned its fourth double play in the eighth to keep the score at 4-0. The Orioles returned the favor after Spencer Torkelson led off against Cionel Perez with a single.

Meadows ended the shutout bid against Seranthony Dominguez with his eighth homer leading off the ninth. Keith followed with a single. After two flyouts, Wenceel Perez struck out but reached first on a wild pitch. Torkelson drove in Keith with a single on an 0-2 pitch. Zach McKinstry then bounced out to end the game.
