Jose Tena delivered an RBI single in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift the Washington Nationals to a 5-4 win against the visiting Los Angeles Angels on Saturday night in the second game of a three-game series.

CJ Abrams started the 10th on second base as a pinch runner for automatic runner Keibert Ruiz and took third on a wild pitch by Roansy Contreras (2-2) before scoring on the game-winning single by Tena.

James Wood doubled, homered and drove in two runs for Washington, which won the series opener 3-2 in 10 innings on Friday night.

Nationals starter Patrick Corbin allowed four runs and eight hits in four-plus innings, striking out two and walking three. Corbin came up short in his fourth straight attempt at his 100th career win.

Zach Neto had three hits, including his fourth homer this month, for Los Angeles. Taylor Ward, Jo Adell and Anthony Rendon each had two hits, and Brandon Drury had two RBIs.

Angels starter Griffin Canning allowed four runs and eight hits in seven innings. He did not record a strikeout or issue a walk.

Derek Law (7-2) threw two scoreless innings of relief as the Angels failed to score in the top of the 10th for the second straight game.

Ward and Rendon had back-to-back one-out singles to right field in the second inning, and Adell then walked to load the bases. Drury followed with a sacrifice fly to center that scored Ward for a 1-0 lead.

Wood led off the bottom of the second inning by lifting a 2-2 slider over the fence in left-center field for his fourth home run of the season, tying the score at 1.

Jacob Young doubled to start the third for Washington. He moved to third on a sacrifice bunt and scored on a single by Alex Call to give the Nationals a 2-1 lead.

Drury delivered an RBI single in the fourth to tie the score at 2.

Neto led off the fifth with a homer to straightaway center, his 17th long ball of the season, moving the Angels ahead 3-2.

Logan O’Hoppe followed with a walk, and he soon scored on a double by Kevin Pillar to stretch the advantage to 4-2.

Juan Yepez singled to lead off the seventh and came home on a double by Wood to trim the Nationals’ deficit to 4-3.

One out later, Tena drove in Wood with a single to left.
