Jesse Winker and Luis Garcia Jr. homered and the Washington Nationals snapped a five-game losing streak with a 12-3 win against the visiting Minnesota Twins on Monday night.

Eddie Rosario had two hits and drove in three runs for Washington, which has scored 17 runs over its past two games after totaling five in its previous four.

Rookie Mitchell Parker (3-2) went six innings for the win, allowing three runs on seven hits. He walked one and struck out seven.

Carlos Correa went deep and Willi Castro had two hits for the Twins, who have lost seven straight.

Minnesota starter Pablo Lopez (4-4) gave up seven runs on eight hits in five innings. He walked one and fanned five.

In the second, Castro doubled with Byron Buxton on first. Left fielder Winker threw to shortstop CJ Abrams, whose relay home got there in time to get Buxton. Castro then scored on an infield single by Kyle Farmer to make it 1-0.

Joey Meneses singled leading off the bottom of the second, and Garcia homered to right to put Washington ahead 2-1.

Winker made it 3-1 when he led off the fourth with a home run to center.

The Nationals exploded for four runs in the fifth. Joey Gallo led off with a single and Keibert Ruiz doubled him to third. Both runners scored when Jacob Young grounded a single to center. With two outs, Young stole second and Winker walked. Meneses lined a single to center, scoring Young, and Winker came home when Garcia singled to center, making it 7-1.

The Twins got two runs back in the sixth when Ryan Jeffers led off with a walk and Correa followed with a homer to left-center.

In the bottom half of the frame, Rosario singled home a run. He then stole second, and when he did, Minnesota catcher Christian Vazquez tried to pick off Young at third, but his throw hit Young and rolled into the outfield. Both Young and Rosario scored on the play as Washington went up 10-3.

Rosario added a two-run single in the eighth.
