The New York Mets continued their barrage of talent acquisition, trading for two-time All-Star right-handed pitcher Freddy Peralta from the Milwaukee Brewers alongside right-hander Tobias Myers in exchange for two prospects on Wednesday.

Milwaukee received right-hander Brandon Sproat and infielder Jett Williams.

In 2025, Peralta, 29, led the National League in wins while going 17-6. He finished the season with a career-low 2.70 ERA, paired with a 5.5 wins above replacement (WAR), the second-highest mark on the Brewers.

Peralta has appeared in 211 career games (162 starts), logging a 70-42 record with a 3.59 ERA. The Brewers finished first in the NL Central in 2025, going a majors-best 97-65.

Peralta debuted in 2018 for Milwaukee, where he has spent his entire eight-season major league career, earning two All-Star selections and finishing fifth in NL Cy Young Award voting in 2025.

He represents the third headline-grabbing move for the Mets in under a week, after New York reached an agreement with free agent shortstop Bo Bichette — also a two-time All-Star — on a three-year, $126 million deal on Friday then traded for Chicago White Sox slugger Luis Robert Jr. on Tuesday.

Myers pitched in 22 games (six starts) for the Brewers in 2025, concluding his season with a 1-2 record, a 3.55 ERA and 38 strikeouts 50 2/3 innings. The 27-year-old has 10-8 career mark with a 3.15 ERA and a 3.3 WAR.

Williams, 22, has yet to debut in the majors, having split 2025 between Double-A and Triple-A. He hit a combined .261 with 17 homers, 52 RBIs and 34 stolen bases in 130 games.

Sproat, 25, was promoted to the majors for the first time in September, and went 0-2 with a 4.79 ERA in four games (all starts) for New York. Through 20 2/3 innings, he surrendered 18 hits and 11 runs, but no home runs.

The Mets finished with an 83-79 record in 2025, missing out on the playoffs on the last day of the regular season after leading the NL East by 8 1/2 games in June.
