Ketel Marte homered twice, Eugenio Suarez belted a three-run shot and the Arizona Diamondbacks completed a road-series win over the San Francisco Giants with a nail-biting 8-7 triumph on Wednesday afternoon.

For the second day in a row, the Diamondbacks jumped on the San Francisco starter for an early 3-0 lead. This time, a solo homer by Marte as the game’s second batter and RBI singles by Geraldo Perdomo and Alek Thomas in the second inning produced the early output.

San Francisco — which rallied for a 10-6 win on Tuesday night — got two of the runs back in the second inning.

Arizona appeared to blow the game open with three in the third and two more in the fourth. Suarez launched reliever Hayden Birdsong’s fourth pitch for his three-run homer in the third, before Marte completed the 10th two-homer game of his career with a two-run blast in the fourth for an 8-2 lead.

The homers were the fourth and fifth of the season for Marte, who went homerless for his first 13 games before hitting one against the Los Angeles Dodgers last Thursday and two more a day later.

The Diamondbacks also had a two-homer game from Corbin Carroll to account for all of their scoring in a 2-1 win in the series opener on Monday at San Francisco.

Giants starter Jordan Hicks (1-5) was pulled two batters into the third, charged with five runs on seven hits in two-plus innings. He walked one and struck out one.

Arizona reliever Ryan Thompson (1-0), who took over an 8-4 game from starter Eduardo Rodriguez to start the fifth, was credited with the win after throwing a scoreless, two-strikeout inning. Rodriguez allowed four runs, five hits and three walks in his four innings, striking out four.

San Francisco scored two runs in the fourth on a double by Heliot Ramos and twice more in the seventh when Jung Hoo Lee belted his sixth homer of the season. The Giants also made things interesting in the ninth, one inning after Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo was ejected for disputing an interference call while Arizona was in the field.

A two-out, bases-loaded walk to pinch-hitter LaMonte Wade Jr. got the Giants within 8-7 before Shelby Miller got Christian Koss to pop out to center field to end it. Miller was credited with his third save.

Suarez joined Marte with two hits and two runs scored, while Lourdes Gurriel Jr., Josh Naylor and Pavin Smith also had a pair of hits for the Diamondbacks, who alternated wins and losses for the 12th consecutive game. The homer was Suarez’s 13th of the season.

Ramos collected two hits and three RBIs for the Giants, who also got a pair of hits from Wilmer Flores and Matt Chapman.
