Joe Ryan threw six shutout innings and Carlos Correa, Gary Sanchez and Kyle Garlick homered as the Minnesota Twins snapped a season-worst, six-game losing streak with a 9-0 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Friday in Minneapolis.

Gilberto Celestino added a three-run double to highlight a six-run third inning for the Twins. Correa finished 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs and two RBIs while Garlick, activated from the injured list earlier in the day, finished with three hits and three runs.

Ryan (10-6) gave up two hits, walked three and struck out eight before departing after throwing 107 pitches, 69 for strikes. Emilio Pagan allowed one hit over two innings, and Michael Fulmer yielded one hit while finishing off the shutout in the ninth as the Giants lost for the sixth time in eight games.

Alex Wood (8-11) picked up the loss in San Francisco’s first-ever appearance at Target Field. Wood allowed eight runs, one off his career high, on six hits and also hit two batters over three innings. He struck out four and walked none.

Minnesota jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Garlick was hit by an 0-2 pitch leading off the inning and Correa followed with his 15th home run of the season, a 390-foot line drive into the bleachers in left.

The Twins broke the game open when they scored six runs in the third. Sandy Leon, Garlick and Correa opened the inning with consecutive singles to load the bases. Jose Miranda then made it 3-0 with a sacrifice fly.

One out later, Jorge Polanco was hit by a pitch to load the bases again. Celestino then lined a double off the scoreboard in right-center to clear the bases and make it 6-0. Sanchez followed with his 12th homer of the season, an opposite-field drive into the right field bleachers.

Garlick finished the scoring with a solo home run in the eighth off Austin Wynns, who is normally a catcher.
