Salvador Perez belted a two-run home run, Maikel Garcia and Bobby Witt Jr. also drove in a pair of runs and the Kansas City Royals completed a road-series win over the San Francisco Giants with an 8-4 romp on Wednesday afternoon.

Rookie right-hander Jonathan Bowlan (1-0) was credited with his first major league win and the Royals supported six pitchers on a bullpen day with 16 hits, producing more runs than they had totaled in their previous four games.

After the clubs had split low-scoring affairs to open the three-game set, the Royals jumped on Giants ace Logan Webb (5-4) for one run in the first, two in the second and three in the fourth en route to a 6-1 lead. Perez’s homer, his third of the season, delivered the fifth and sixth runs of the flurry.

Witt had a sacrifice fly and an RBI double to account for two of the first four runs.

Webb, who has alternated wins and losses in his last eight starts, was charged with a season-high six runs (three earned) on a season-high 10 hits. He struck out five and didn’t issue a walk.

Kansas City completed its scoring in the fifth against Giants reliever Spencer Bivens when Michael Massey singled in a run and Garcia capped his two-RBI outing with a sacrifice fly.

Making just his sixth appearance of a big-league career over parts of three seasons, Bowlan took over after Daniel Lynch IV worked 1 2/3 scoreless innings as an opener.

Bowlan stranded Giants at first and second to end the second inning, then surrendered a solo home run to Matt Chapman and a double to Jung Hoo Lee to open the third before retiring the last three batters he faced.

Steven Cruz, Taylor Clarke, Angel Zerpa and Lucas Erceg shared the final six innings, limiting the Giants to three runs and five hits.

Perez finished with a single and a double to complement his home run, matching Massey’s three-hit performance. Garcia, Witt and Drew Waters chipped in with two hits apiece as the Royals ran up their third-most hits of the season. Kyle Isbel scored twice.

Patrick Bailey and Heliot Ramos, who had two hits, also homered for the Giants, who completed a 5-4 homestand. The homers were No. 9 of the season for both Chapman and Ramos, and the first for Bailey.

Ramos’ two-run shot off Erceg capped the game’s scoring in the last of the ninth.
