The San Francisco Giants and infielder Wilmer Flores are in agreement on a two-year, $13 million extension.

The team announced the deal on Monday, and it includes $6.5 million salaries in each of the next two seasons (2023 and 2024). Additionally, Flores will have a player option for 2025. If exercised, he would make $3.5 million in base salary. If he rejects the option, the team has the chance to exercise a club option that would pay Flores $8.5 million in 2025

Flores hit the decisive two-run homer in the eighth inning of Sunday’s 4-2 victory against the Chicago Cubs.

The 31-year-old veteran is batting .235 with 18 homers and 65 RBIs in 132 games this season. Defensively, he has started at least 32 games at first, second and third bases.

Flores signed a two-year, $6.25 million deal with the Giants before the 2020 MLB campaign and they picked up his $3.5 million option for the current season.

Flores is a career .263 hitter with 125 home runs and 440 RBIs in 996 games with the New York Mets (2013-18), Arizona Diamondbacks (2019) and Giants.
