Eugenio Suarez hit his third grand slam of the season, Pavin Smith also homered in a five-run sixth, and the Arizona Diamondbacks completed a three-game sweep of the Seattle Mariners with a 5-2 victory on Wednesday afternoon in Phoenix.

The D-backs, who trailed 2-0 entering the sixth, have eight grand slams this season and are the first team in major league history to have eight in their first 68 games.

Suarez turned the game around with his 19th homer, Josh Naylor had two hits and Ketel Marte extended his on-base streak to 24 games with a pair of singles.

Arizona’s Eduardo Rodriguez (2-3) gave up two runs and six hits in 6 1/3 innings in his second start since returning from the injured list with shoulder inflammation. The left-hander struck out five and walked one.

Donovan Solano had two hits, including a homer, and Julio Rodriguez had three hits, including two doubles, for the Mariners, who have lost eight of nine and 15 of 21. The Mariners (33-34) fell below .500 for the first time since April 15, when they were 8-9 before winning 12 of their next 15 games.

Shelby Miller struck out two in the ninth for his seventh save of the season.

Mariners right-hander Bryan Woo (5-4) had given up three hits in five scoreless innings and took a 2-0 lead into the sixth before the D-backs rallied to win for the seventh time in 10 games.

Corbin Carroll and Marte singled to open the sixth and Naylor drew a one-out walk to load the bases. Suarez hit the second pitch for a 410-foot homer to left-center field, and Smith followed one out later with a 375-foot shot to right for a 5-2 lead.

The D-backs hit seven homers in the series, all by different players, and have two sweeps in their last three series.

The Mariners took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when the D-backs failed to turn a double play. Rodriguez singled and Cal Raleigh walked with one out before Randy Arozarena hit a routine grounder to third baseman Suarez, who threw to second. Marte could not get the ball out of his glove cleanly after getting the force, leaving runners on first and third. Jorge Polanco singled to drive in Rodriguez.

Solano hit his first homer of the season while leading off the fifth for a 2-0 lead. Solano is 5-for-8 in his career against Rodriguez.
