Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman each went 3-for-5 from the top of the lineup as the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers posted a 7-4 win over the Boston Red Sox in the finale of a three-game series on Sunday afternoon.

Betts scored twice and drove in three runs, matching James Outman with a home run for Los Angeles, which won the series and moved to 6-2 in its last eight games.

Freeman and Miguel Rojas each hit two doubles. Freeman’s second double was his 50th of the season.

Outman and Max Muncy also had two hits apiece. The Dodgers totaled 14 hits on the afternoon.

Gavin Stone (1-0) relieved opener Caleb Ferguson, pitching six-plus innings to earn the decision. All four runs he allowed came on three home runs.

Stone’s day ended after Justin Turner and Adam Duvall hit back-to-back homers to start the eighth for the Red Sox.

Triston Casas also left the yard for Boston. Duvall and Casas were both 2-for-4 and combined for three RBIs and three runs.

The Dodgers broke the ice with Outman’s leadoff homer in the fourth. Boston starter Tanner Houck (3-8) struck out two of the next four batters to work out of the inning.

Houck finished his four innings of one-run, five-hit ball with four strikeouts.

The Los Angeles lead doubled against reliever Chris Murphy in the fifth. Freeman led off with a double and scored on Muncy’s line-drive single to left two batters later.

Murphy got two outs in the sixth before Austin Barnes hit a ground-rule double to right, and Betts knocked him home with a two-run homer over the Green Monster.

The Red Sox finally broke through against Stone in the sixth. After Duvall’s leadoff double extended his hitting streak to seven games, Casas guided a two-run homer just over the Monster.

Outman’s second RBI came on a two-out single in the seventh.

In the eighth, Betts lined a one-out single to center to score Rojas. Amed Rosario’s RBI fielder’s choice brought in Betts two batters later, extending the visitors’ lead to 7-2.

Former Red Sox pitcher Ryan Brasier struck out two in relief of Stone. Evan Phillips recorded his 21st save.

Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers was scratched from the lineup Sunday morning to undergo X-rays after being hit on the wrist in the eighth inning of Saturday’s win.
