Randal Grichuk and Corbin Carroll each fell one component short of the cycle as two of four Diamondbacks to record three hits during Arizona’s 9-4 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday in Phoenix.

Grichuk finished a single shy and Carroll was missing the homer while Gabriel Moreno and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. joined them as part of the three-hit brigade. Grichuk, Gurriel and Moreno drove in two runs apiece as Arizona racked up 15 hits while winning for the seventh time in 10 games.

Jordan Montgomery (4-4) allowed three runs and six hits over 5 2/3 innings for the Diamondbacks, with three strikeouts and one walk. He gave up 14 runs and 17 hits in six-plus innings over his previous two starts.

Arizona’s Geraldo Perdomo, recovered from knee surgery, had two hits and a walk in his first major league game since April 3.

Taylor Ward homered, drove in two runs and scored twice for the Angels, who have dropped three of their past four games. Jo Adell and Michael Stefanic each had two hits for Los Angeles.

Angels catcher Logan O’Hoppe departed in the sixth inning after being struck by a foul ball in the groin area.

Jose Suarez (1-1) gave up four runs and six hits over 2 2/3 innings in his first start of the season. He struck out three and walked one.

Grichuk got things started in the second when he led off with a triple and scored one out later on Carroll’s triple. After Blaze Alexander was hit by a pitch, Perdomo delivered an RBI single.

The Angels tied it in the top of the third on consecutive two-out, run-scoring doubles by Ward and Kevin Pillar.

In the bottom of the third, Moreno hit a leadoff double. Two outs later, Grichuk ripped a 410-foot blast to left-center for his second homer of the season to give Arizona a 4-2 lead.

Grichuk hit a two-out double in the fifth to keep the inning alive and later scored on Carson Fulmer’s wild pitch.

Ward led off the sixth with his 12th homer, a booming shot to left off Montgomery.

Moreno’s RBI double in the sixth boosted Arizona’s lead to 6-3. In the seventh, Moreno had a run-scoring single and Gurriel singled in two to make it 9-3.

Matt Thaiss hit an RBI double for Los Angeles in the eighth.
