Poor air quality in the nation’s capital forced the postponement of Thursday afternoon’s game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the host Washington Nationals.
“This postponement was determined following conversations throughout the day with medical and weather experts and the two impacted Clubs regarding clearly hazardous air quality conditions in Washington, D.C.,” read a statement from Major League Baseball.
The game was rescheduled for Thursday, June 22, at 1 p.m. ET at Nationals Park.
Games were postponed on Monday in Philadelphia and New York City due to the conditions caused by the smoke from Canadian wildfires.
