Pinch hitter Randal Grichuk delivered a walk-off double in the 10th inning to give the Arizona Diamondbacks a 12-11 win against the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday night in Phoenix.

Arizona’s Ketel Marte had four hits, including a game-tying home run with two outs in the ninth, and scored three runs. Blaze Alexander had two hits and three RBIs and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. and Joc Pederson each homered and drove in two runs for the Diamondbacks, who lost the opener of the three-game series 3-2 in 11 innings on Monday.

Arizona starter Tommy Henry allowed five runs and nine hits in 4 1/3 innings, striking out three and walking one.

Kevin Ginkel (1-0) pitched a scoreless 10th for the Diamondbacks.

Chicago’s Ian Happ had three hits, including a grand slam in the seventh inning. Nico Hoerner had four hits and scored two runs, and Miguel Amaya had two hits and two RBIs.

Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks went 4 1/3 innings, allowing seven runs and five hits. He struck out three and walked three.

Drew Smyly (2-2) gave up the game-winning double by Grichuk.

Cubs closer Adbert Alzolay got two quick outs in the ninth before Marte lined a home run just over the yellow line in right-center field to tie it 11-11.

Chicago loaded the bases with no outs in the seventh and got a sacrifice fly from Christopher Morel and a two-out RBI single from Garrett Cooper to cut their deficit to 8-7.

After a walk reloaded the bases, Happ lined a home run just inside the left field foul pole for an 11-8 lead.

An RBI double by Alexander in the seventh cut it to 11-9, and a sacrifice fly by Pederson in the eighth made it 11-10, setting up Marte’s game-tying homer in the ninth.

Alexander gave Arizona 1-0 lead with an RBI groundout in the second inning.

Happ and Amaya tied it 1-1 with back-to-back doubles to start the third.

Gurriel hit a two-run homer with one out in the third, and Pederson followed with a two-out solo shot to extend the lead to 4-1.

Amaya hit a line drive into the left field corner with one out in the fifth and the ball got past Gurriel for a triple, allowing Happ to score from first.

Alexander Canario and Hoerner followed with back-to-back RBI doubles into the left field corner to tie it 4-4. Cody Bellinger grounded a one-out RBI triple just inside the first base line to give Chicago a 5-4 lead.

Luke Little replaced Hendricks with the bases loaded and one out in the fifth and threw back-to-back wild pitches to move the Diamondbacks back in front 6-5.

A sacrifice fly from Eugenio Suarez brought in another run before Alexander came through with an RBI single for an 8-5 lead.
