Seiya Suzuki drove in two runs, Colin Rea pitched 5 1/3 innings and the Chicago Cubs completed a three-game sweep of the visiting Chicago White Sox with a 6-2 win on Sunday afternoon.

Rea allowed one run on four hits with two walks and three strikeouts. After Drew Pomeranz (1-0) got two outs in the sixth, Ryan Pressly and Brad Keller each pitched a scoreless inning before the White Sox scored a run in the ninth against Julian Merryweather.

Pete Crow-Armstrong, Michael Busch, Nico Hoerner and Vidal Brujan each had two hits for the Cubs, who extended a franchise record with their eighth consecutive victory against the White Sox.

Miguel Vargas homered for the White Sox, who lost their fourth straight following a three-game winning streak.

White Sox starter Jonathan Cannon (2-5) retired 13 straight batters before the Cubs broke a 1-1 tie with three runs in the sixth inning.

Brujan hit a leadoff single and scored on Crow-Armstrong’s double. Kyle Tucker followed by reaching second base on a fielding error, moving Crow-Armstrong to third.

After Steven Wilson replaced Cannon and allowed a run on Suzuki’s sacrifice fly, Busch delivered a run-scoring single to put the Cubs ahead 4-1.

Cannon gave up four runs (three earned) on four hits over five-plus innings. He struck out three and did not allow a walk.

The Cubs extended their lead with a run in the seventh when Hoerner doubled with one out against Brandon Eisert and scored on Brujan’s single.

Hoerner doubled again with two outs in the eighth inning, scoring Dansby Swanson from second base.

The Cubs took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Crow-Armstrong hit a leadoff triple and scored on Suzuki’s one-out sacrifice fly.

Vargas began the fourth inning by depositing Rea’s 3-2 fastball into the left-center field bleachers for his sixth homer of the season and third in his last three games.

Vargas had two hits Sunday and drove in five of the White Sox’ eight runs during the series.

The White Sox pushed a run across in the ninth when Luis Robert Jr. hit a leadoff double, moved to third on Lenyn Sosa’s single and scored on Edgar Quero’s groundout.
