Corbin Carroll became the first Diamondbacks player to achieve a 30-home run, 30-stolen base season, Eduardo Rodriguez pitched six scoreless innings and Arizona moved closer to a playoff berth with a 9-2 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies in Phoenix on Sunday.

Carroll hit his 31st home run — a three-run shot to cap a five-run second inning — and reached the 30-30 milestone when he stole his 30th base in the sixth.

Jorge Barrosa hit his first career home run among three hits, Ketel Marte had two hits, two RBIs and scored twice and Geraldo Perdomo added two hits to extend his hitting streak to 11 for the D-backs (79-77), who won the three-game series.

Arizona trails the New York Mets (80-76) and Cincinnati Reds (80-76) by one game for the third NL wild-card berth with six games to play. Cincinnati holds the tiebreaker against Arizona and New York.

Rodriguez (9-8) gave up six hits in six-plus innings, leaving with a 7-0 lead after Bryson Scott doubled to lead off the seventh and Weston Wilson walked. Reliever Philip Abner got Harrison Bader to pop up before Kyle Schwarber grounded into a double play to end the inning.

Rodriguez struck out five and walked three while winning his fourth straight decision and posting his fourth quality start in the last five.

Nick Castellanos singled in a run to break the shutout bid in the eighth. Wilson drew a two-out, bases-loaded walk to force in another before Bader lined out to short center to end the inning.

Alec Bohm tied a career high with four of the Phillies’ 11 hits. Activated from the injured list Friday, he was 8-for-13 with a homer and four RBIs in the series.

The Phillies (92-64) remain three games behind Milwaukee (95-61) for the NL’s best record. They are four games ahead of the Los Angeles Dodgers (88-68) for the second first-round playoff bye and own the tiebreaker.

Tim Tawa homered and Gabriel Moreno had three hits for the D-backs, who took control with six runs in the first two innings off Ranger Suarez (12-7).

Marte doubled to lead off the first, took third on Perdomo’s single and scored when Carroll grounded into a fielder’s choice. Tawa and Barrosa had bunt singles in the second before Marte hit a two-run, bases-loaded single and Carroll hit a 428-foot, three-run homer to right-center for a 6-0 lead.

Suarez gave up six runs on eight hits in four innings, with two strikeouts and one walk. He had won his last four decisions before his shortest appearance since giving up seven runs in 3 2/3 innings to the D-backs in his season debut May 4.
