Colt Keith had four hits, including a two-run homer, and drove in three runs as the host Detroit Tigers pounded the Chicago White Sox, 11-2, on Sunday afternoon.

Keith also scored three runs as the Tigers took two games in the three-game weekend series from their American League Central Division opponent. Riley Greene hit a three-run homer and Akil Baddoo blasted a two-run homer. Zach McKinstry added a solo shot for the Tigers, who had scored just six runs in their previous six games.

Wenceel Perez added three hits and drove in a run, while Matt Vierling chipped in two hits and scored twice for Detroit. Reese Olson (2-8) limited the White Sox to two runs and four hits in 6 1/3 innings. Olson didn’t issue a walk while striking out three.

White Sox rookie Jonathan Cannon gave up eight runs (five earned) and seven hits in one-plus inning. Nicky Lopez had two hits and drove in both of Chicago’s runs.

Detroit grabbed a 5-0 lead in the first inning. Vierling led off with a triple and scored on Keith’s fourth home run, an opposite-field shot. Mark Canha reached on an error by shortstop Paul DeJong and moved to third on Perez’s ground-rule double. Gia Urshela grounded out as Canha scored and Baddoo followed with his long ball.

The Tigers made it 9-0 with four runs in the second. Jake Rogers and Vierling got that outburst going with singles. Keith singled to score Rogers and, after Jared Shuster replaced Cannon on the mound, Greene smashed his home run over the left-center field wall.

Chicago broke through in the seventh. Eloy Jimenez, just off the injured list due to a hamstring injury, hit a single and moved to third on Gavin Sheets’ double. After Will Vest replaced Olson, Lopez scored both runners with a single.

McKinstry’s home run came in the bottom of the seventh.

Detroit scored its final run in the eighth when Keith and Greene had back-to-back singles. Keith scored one out later on Perez’s double.
