Clayton Kershaw gave up one run over six innings and the Los Angeles Dodgers moved back into a tie for first place in the National League West with San Diego by defeating the visiting Padres 3-2 on Friday.

Teoscar Hernandez hit a home run and Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts each drove in a run for the Dodgers, who ended a four-game losing streak.

Kershaw (7-2) allowed two hits and one walk while striking out three. He has given up a combined two runs over his last three starts (18 innings), earning a win in each outing.

Five Los Angeles relievers combined to give up one run over three innings, with rookie left-hander Jack Dreyer recording the final out for his second save.

Ramon Laureano homered for the Padres, who took over sole possession of first place in the division on Wednesday while knocking the Dodgers into second for the first time since April 27.

Left-hander Wandy Peralta opened with 1 1/3 scoreless innings for San Diego before right-hander Randy Vasquez (3-6) gave up two runs on three hits over 3 2/3 innings.

The Padres are still 14-4 since July 26, but they fell to 2-6 against the Dodgers this season.

San Diego took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Laureano hit a two-out home run to left field, his 18th of the season and third since joining San Diego from the Baltimore Orioles at the trade deadline.

The Dodgers grabbed a 2-1 lead in the third inning after Michael Conforto, Alex Freeland and Miguel Rojas loaded the bases with singles to open the frame. Ohtani grounded into a forceout for a run, and Betts followed with a sacrifice fly.

Hernandez added an insurance run in the seventh on a one-out home run to right-center field, his 19th, off Jeremiah Estrada. It was the first home run Estrada allowed in 23 appearances after giving one up to the Dodgers’ Will Smith on June 17.

The Padres loaded the bases in the eighth against left-hander Alex Vesia after both Jose Iglesias and Jake Cronenworth were hit by pitches and Fernando Tatis Jr. drew a one-out walk. Luis Arraez’s sacrifice fly closed the gap to 3-2, but Blake Treinen replaced Vesia and got Manny Machado to hit an inning-ending popout.
