Davis Schneider had three hits and three RBIs and Kevin Gausman pitched six strong innings to boost the visiting Toronto Blue Jays to a 7-2 rout of the slumping Chicago White Sox on Tuesday.

Chicago was outhit 13-8 en route to its seventh straight defeat and 11th loss in its past 12 games.

Toronto seized control early, scoring three runs in the second inning. Schneider, who had led the game off with a double following a 40-minute rain delay, punctuated the rally with a two-run double.

Isiah Kiner-Falefa opened the scoring with an RBI double.

A 68-minute rain delay preceded the bottom of the ninth. Toronto’s Tim Mayza retired the White Sox in order on seven pitches in the frame.

Chicago drew within 3-1 on Nicky Lopez’s RBI double in the third but was otherwise unable to solve Gausman (4-3).

The right-hander earned his third victory in five May starts, giving up one run while scattering four hits across six innings to go along with one walk and three strikeouts.

The White Sox have totaled only four runs in their past three losses.

White Sox right-hander Jake Woodford took the loss in his team debut, surrendering three runs and five hits in 4 1/3 innings. He logged two walks and four strikeouts.

Chicago selected Woodford’s contract from Triple-A Charlotte earlier Tuesday. He signed a minor league deal with the White Sox in January.

Woodford (0-1) started in place of fellow veteran Mike Clevinger, who was scratched from his scheduled outing before the game and placed on the 15-day injured list with right elbow inflammation.

Eight Blue Jays had at least one hit, with Danny Jansen, Daulton Varsho and George Springer contributing two apiece. Toronto broke things open with a three-run eighth, which featured four straight two-out hits, including Justin Turner’s two-run single.

Andrew Vaughn drove in Chicago’s second run with a two-out single in the eighth inning. Lopez had two hits for the White Sox.

Toronto clinched the season series with Chicago. The Blue Jays took two of three games from the visiting White Sox last week and are now 4-1 against them with only Wednesday’s game left.
