In between Games 1 and 2 of the teams’ doubleheader in Baltimore on Tuesday, the Toronto Blue Jays acquired right-handed reliever Seranthony Dominguez and cash considerations from the Orioles.

The Orioles received right-handed pitching prospect Juaron Watts-Brown to complete the trade.

Dominguez, 30, did not appear in the first game of Tuesday’s twin bill, a 16-4 Baltimore rout of Toronto. Then he made the walk from the home clubhouse to the visitors’ room at Camden Yards.

Dominguez was shown on the video board during Game 2 and saluted Orioles fans from the Toronto bullpen. Then, the Blue Jays called on him to pitch the seventh inning.

In a tie game, Dominguez got two strikeouts and hit ex-teammate Dylan Carlson with a pitch, but he helped the Jays catch Carlson trying to steal third. The Orioles went on to win, 3-2.

The Blue Jays are in first place in the American League East and made the deal with their division rival for an experienced bullpen arm.

In 298 career games with the Philadelphia Phillies (2018-24) and Orioles (2024-25), Dominguez has gone 21-22 with 40 saves, a 3.54 ERA and 335 strikeouts across 285 innings. He did not play in 2020 due to injury.

In 2025, Dominguez has gone 2-3 with two saves and a 3.24 ERA in 43 appearances for the Orioles. He’s struck out 54 batters for a rate of 11.7 strikeouts per nine innings.

Watts-Brown, 23, has split this season between Double-A New Hampshire and High-A Vancouver. He has gone 2-5 with a 3.54 ERA in 19 starts. MLB Pipeline ranked Watts-Brown as Toronto’s No. 10 prospect.
