The Toronto Blue Jays placed shortstop Bo Bichette on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a right calf strain.

The two-time All-Star has not played since Friday’s 3-1 loss to the visiting Cleveland Guardians.

Bichette, 26, is batting a career-worst .237 with four home runs and 28 RBIs in 66 games this season.

The Blue Jays also recalled infielder Orelvis Martinez and right-hander Ryan Burr from Triple-A Buffalo and optioned left-hander Brandon Eisert to Buffalo.

Martinez, 22, will be active and could make his major league debut Tuesday night against the visiting Boston Red Sox.

Martinez is batting .260 with 16 home runs and 46 RBIs in 63 games this season at Buffalo.

Burr, 30, has no decisions and a 2.70 ERA in two relief appearances (3 1/3 innings) this season for Toronto.

Eisert, 26, made his MLB debut in Monday’s 7-3 loss to Boston. He allowed no runs on one hit and issued three walks in two innings of relief.
