Patrick Wisdom and Cody Bellinger put Chicago ahead with back-to-back home runs in the sixth inning, and the visiting Cubs held on for a 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the rubber match of a three-game series Sunday.

Drew Smyly (1-1) allowed one run on four hits with two walks and three strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings. Adbert Alzolay, Mark Leiter Jr. and Michael Fulmer followed before Brad Boxberger worked around a two-out single in the ninth for his first save.

Dansby Swanson had three hits for Chicago, which has won seven of its last 10. Nico Hoerner and Wisdom added two hits apiece.

Dodgers starter Julio Urias (3-1) allowed three runs (two earned) on eight hits over 5 2/3 innings. He walked one and struck out six. Chris Taylor homered and Mookie Betts had three hits and an RBI for Los Angeles, which has lost six of its last nine.

Taylor gave Los Angeles an early lead with a leadoff homer in the third inning. His homer off the left-field foul pole was Taylor’s fourth of the season and second of the series.

Urias threw just 54 pitches in the first four innings before tossing 31 in the fifth, when the Cubs pulled even on Luis Torrens’ run-scoring single with two outs. After Hoerner and Swanson each singled to load the bases, Ian Happ grounded out to end the inning.

Chicago moved ahead against Urias with two outs in the sixth when Wisdom homered for the third straight game and Bellinger followed with a 422-foot homer into the right-field seats.

Los Angeles cut the deficit to 3-2 in the bottom of the seventh against Alzolay when Taylor scored from third after Cubs right fielder Seiya Suzuki lost Betts’ fly ball in the sun.

Alzolay was then replaced by Leiter, who struck out Freddie Freeman for the second out. J.D. Martinez singled to load the bases before Leiter escaped the jam by striking out Max Muncy.

The Dodgers placed catcher Will Smith on the seven-day injured list (concussion-like symptoms) before the game. Veteran catcher Austin Wynns was signed to replace Smith on the roster.
