Brent Rooker and Shea Langeliers each homered and combined to drive in seven runs as the Athletics blew out the host Baltimore Orioles 11-3 on Saturday night.

Jack Perkins (1-2) pitched six innings for his first major league victory, giving up three runs on three hits with one walk and five strikeouts. The rookie right-hander made his second start in his 10th career game.

Michael Kelly worked two scoreless innings out of the Athletics bullpen and Hogan Harris took care of the ninth to ensure a split in the first two games of this series between two teams occupying last place in their respective American League divisions.

Rooker knocked in four runs and Langeliers had three hits to go with his three RBIs. JJ Bleday and Nick Kurtz added two hits apiece and Gio Urshela knocked in two runs.

Gunnar Henderson provided Baltimore’s offense with a three-run homer in the first. Brandon Young (0-6) took the loss as he surrendered six runs and six hits over three innings with two walks and two strikeouts.

There were similarities to Friday night’s series opener as the Orioles scored all their runs in the first for the second night in a row. But this time, Baltimore didn’t win.

The Orioles’ four hits were one more than the previous game. They left three runners on base, one more than Friday night.

The Athletics posted double figures in runs for the third time in a 14-game span and the 10th time this season.

Despite Langeliers’ two-run homer, the Athletics trailed 3-2 after the first. They went ahead with a four-run third as Rooker blasted a three-run shot for his 24th long ball of the season.

Rooker drove in the first run in the Athletics’ five-run fifth. Luis Urias’ single and Urshela’s two-run double added to the advantage before Langeliers’ RBI ground-rule double.

The first three batters in Baltimore’s batting order each had one hit — accounting for all of the Orioles’ offense — until Ryan Mountcastle’s two-out single in the ninth.
