Nolan Schanuel hit a solo homer, Zach Neto hit a two-run shot and Jose Soriano pitched six solid innings to help the Los Angeles Angels post a 3-2 victory over the San Diego Padres on Wednesday night at Anaheim, Calif.

Neto and Logan O’Hoppe had two hits apiece as Los Angeles recorded a three-game series sweep at home for the first time since last July 17-19 against the New York Yankees.

Soriano (3-5) allowed two runs (one earned) and six hits. He struck out one and walked one.

Adam Cimber and Ben Joyce each pitched a scoreless inning before veteran Matt Moore came on in the ninth and retired the side in order for his first save of the season.

Fernando Tatis Jr. went 4-for-4 with an RBI for the Padres, who lost their fourth consecutive game. Luis Arraez added two hits.

San Diego’s Manny Machado exited in the fourth inning with a mild right hip flexor strain and is day-to-day, according to Padres manager Mike Shildt. Machado was injured while running to first base on a fielder’s choice.

Dylan Cease (5-5) gave up three runs and four hits over six innings. He struck out six and walked one.

Schanuel led off the bottom of the first and hit Cease’s fifth offering over the fence in center. It is Schanuel’s sixth homer of the season.

In the second inning, O’Hoppe singled with one out. Neto came up with two outs and ripped a two-run blast over the wall in left-center. It was Neto’s seventh homer of the campaign.

San Diego scored twice in the sixth to pull within one.

Luis Campusano singled and Arraez followed with a double. Left fielder Taylor Ward overshot the cutoff man, allowing Campusano to score and Arraez to move to third.

Tatis followed with an RBI single to right before Soriano retired the next three batters. Tatis’ hit was the lone one for the Padres in seven at-bats with runners in scoring position.
