Mike Trout and Jared Walsh hit home runs and three pitchers combined on a five-hitter as the Los Angeles Angels defeated the host Seattle Mariners 3-0 Saturday night to complete a sweep of a day-night doubleheader.

The Angels won the opener 4-2 as Trout hit a tiebreaking two-run homer in the 10th inning.

In the nightcap, Jose Suarez, Jimmy Herget (2-1) and Archie Bradley combined to shut down the Mariners. Bradley pitched the ninth for his second save of the season.

After Penn Murfee pitched two scoreless innings as an opener, the Mariners turned to veteran Tommy Milone (0-1), who was making his season debut.

Milone allowed just two hits over four innings, but one of those was a solo shot by Trout that broke a scoreless tie with two outs in the third inning. Trout hammered a 2-2 changeup that was low and away over the center-field fence for his 20th homer of the season and his fourth in the first four games of the five-game series.

The score remained 1-0 until the seventh, when Luis Rengifo greeted reliever Sergio Romo with a double to right. Pinch-runner Tyler Wade took third on a wild pitch, and in a pinch-hit role, Walsh hit a 2-1 pitch deep to right to make it 3-0.

The Mariners were shut out for the third time in their past eight games and dropped to 3-7 on their 11-game homestand, which concludes Sunday.

The Mariners had a chance early, loading the bases with one out in the first. But Suarez struck out Dylan Moore and Justin Upton to get out of the jam.

The Mariners left eight on base and went 1 for 7 with runners in scoring position.

Suarez went 4 1/3 innings. He allowed four hits, walked three and struck out seven. Herget followed with 3 2/3 innings of one-hit relief, with no walks and one strikeout.
