Kody Clemens hit a three-run go-ahead homer and Miguel Cabrera moved into a tie for 27th place on the all-time hits list as the visiting Detroit Tigers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 6-3 on Saturday night in Phoenix.

Harold Castro went 3-for-4 with a triple and Javy Baez extended his hit streak to nine games for Detroit, which won for just the 10th time in 31 road games this season.

Tyler Alexander (1-3) picked up the win with two scoreless innings of relief while Gregory Soto struck out two during a 1-2-3 ninth to notch his 14th save.

It was the first major league homer for Clemens, a third-round pick out of Texas in 2018 and the son of seven-time Cy Young Award winner Roger Clemens.

Cabrera lined a single to right off reliever Noe Ramirez in the seventh for the 3,053rd career hit of his career to tie Rod Carew. Rickey Henderson is 26th on the list with 3,055 hits.

David Peralta homered for the first time since May 29 for Arizona, which lost its fifth straight game. Joe Mantiply (1-1), who had allowed just one run in 29 appearances this season and entered the contest with a 0.34 ERA, suffered the loss. He allowed three runs on three hits in 1 1/3 innings.

Detroit took a 1-0 lead in the fourth when Baez led off with a single against Diamondbacks starter Zach Davies and scored one out later on Castro’s triple into the right field corner.

The Diamondbacks took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the fourth on a two-run homer by Peralta over the bullpen in right and an RBI double by Daulton Varsho.

Detroit tied it 3-3 in the fifth when Tucker Barnhart walked and went to third on a double by Victor Reyes. Both runners then came around to score on a broken bat grounder by Riley Greene, which went through the legs of Buddy Kennedy and into center field for an error.

Clemens then put the Tigers ahead to stay in the sixth with his three-run homer to right off Mantiply, snapping a streak of 17 consecutive scoreless relief appearances by the left-hander. It was the first homer allowed by Mantiply since June 18 of last season and also the first ever to a left-handed hitter.
