The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired outfielder Trayce Thompson from the Detroit Tigers on Monday to help bolster their outfield in the wake of Mookie Betts’ injury, multiple outlets reported.

The Tigers received cash considerations in the trade, per the reports.

The Dodgers will mark Thompson’s third organization since the start of the season. He started the campaign with San Diego, going 1-for-14 before he was granted free agency on May 14 and signed a minor league deal with the Tigers on May 19.

Thompson, 31, is batting .305 with 17 home runs and 36 RBIs with an OPS of 1.085 at Triple-A this season.

He’s a career .205 hitter with 26 HRs in 223 big league games with five teams, including the Dodgers (2016-17), when he hit 14 home runs in 107 games. He is the younger brother of the Golden State Warriors’ Klay Thompson, who won his fourth NBA title last week.

Betts went on the injured list Sunday with a cracked right rib, that happened Wednesday in a collision with teammate Cody Bellinger. The Dodgers used infielder Eddy Alvarez in right field Sunday and he was unable to make a key play near the foul line in the ninth inning as the Cleveland Guardians scored two runs for a 5-3 victory.
