Anthony Robinson II scored a career-high 29 points as the Missouri Tigers rallied past the California Golden Bears 98-93 on Tuesday night in an SEC/ACC Challenge game in Columbia, Mo.

Mark Mitchell scored 21 points for the Tigers (7-1), who won despite falling behind by 18 points late in the first half. Tamar Bates scored 15 points before fouling out, and Marques Warrick added 12.

Missouri outscored California 63-42 in the second half while making 22-of-26 shots (84.6 percent) from the floor.

Andrej Stojakovic career-high 26 points for the Golden Bears (6-2). Jeremiah Wilkinson scored 19 points before fouling out, and Rytis Petraitis scored 17 points.

After missing three games with an injury, Jovan Blacksher Jr. returned to add 13 points and eight assists for California.

Robinson scored the Tigers’ first nine points to give them a 9-6 lead. California responded with a 14-6 run, fueled by five points by Blacksher, to move ahead 20-15.

After the Golden Bears moved ahead 28-22, the Tigers answered with a 7-2 surge, with Warrick scoring five of the points.

But minutes later, California began a run of 17 unanswered points — with Stojakovic scoring nine of them — while racing to a 51-35 halftime lead.

The Golden Bears forced seven Missouri turnovers in the first half, shot 6-for-11 from 3-point range, and built a 20-13 rebounding advantage.

The second half was a much different story. Missouri scored the first eight points to cut its deficit to 51-43.

After Wilkinson’s 3-pointer put California up 57-49, Bates, Robinson and Warrick led the Tigers on a 20-7 run to put Missouri up 69-64.

California pulled even at 73-73 on Stojakovic’s 3-pointer. The Bears tied the game twice more, then Missouri led the rest of the way.

Mitchell threw down dunks on consecutive possessions, and Robinson made five free throws in the last 1:07.
