Jerkaila Jordan poured in 24 points and Mississippi State held off a late rally by No. 9 LSU to upset the Tigers 77-73 on Monday night in Starkville, Miss.

Jordan made 9 of 17 shots from the floor and nabbed five steals for the Bulldogs (17-5, 4-3 Southeastern Conference), who led 70-61 after Darrione Rogers sank a 3-pointer with 6:46 left in the game.

LSU (18-4, 5-3) answered with a 6-0 burst, pulling within 70-67 when Angel Reese scored down low with 2:12 to go. However, Rogers connected from deep once again just over a minute later, and Mississippi State sealed the win at the free-throw line.

Rogers finished with 19 points and Mjracle Sheppard added 12 to go along with five assists and six steals as the Bulldogs improved to 4-1 over their past five games.

Reese recorded 20 points and 18 rebounds for the Tigers, who have dropped back-to-back games for the first time this season. Flau’jae Johnson chipped in 18 points and Aneesah Morrow racked up 14 points and six steals, but LSU was still unable to hold on to a seven-point lead that it built early in the third quarter.
