Tyler Herro had 23 points, seven rebounds and seven assists to lift the Miami Heat past the host Philadelphia 76ers 109-104 on Wednesday.

Herro’s jump shot with 1:47 remaining in the fourth quarter propelled the Heat to a 103-97 lead.

Jaime Jaquez Jr. grabbed an offensive rebound and threw down a dunk for a 107-102 advantage with 34.4 seconds remaining.

Bam Adebayo added 23 points and 14 rebounds and Duncan Robinson scored 20 points. Haywood Highsmith also contributed 16 while Jaquez Jr. had 12 points and nine rebounds.

The Heat were missing Jimmy Butler (death of a relative) along with injured standouts Josh Richardson and Terry Rozier.

The short-handed Sixers were without injured players Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris, De’Anthony Melton, Nicolas Batum and Robert Covington along with recently signed Kyle Lowry because of conditioning.

Tyrese Maxey led the Sixers with 30 points, Buddy Hield scored 22 and dished out 10 assists and Paul Reed had 18 points and 12 rebounds. Ricky Council IV contributed 13 points.

Maxey followed his own shot for a 91-89 Sixers advantage with 7:24 remaining.

Highsmith hit a 3-pointer on the ensuing possession to put the Heat ahead.

The Heat went ahead 99-93 when Robinson knocked down a difficult 3-pointer from the wing and Adebayo then scored in the lane with 5:09 left.

Robinson converted a three-point play with 3:04 remaining in the second quarter to tie the game at 54.

Maxey dropped in a 3-pointer from the wing with 1:45 left for a 58-56 advantage.

Maxey hit a tough runner in the lane with 1.4 seconds left and the Sixers went into the locker room with a 62-60 lead. Maxey and Hield paced the Sixers with 17 points apiece.

Herro led the Heat with 15.

The Heat went up 79-75 late in the third quarter and Council IV then drove to the basket and scored to close the Sixers within two with 2:26 left.

Miami led 83-82 at the end of the third.
