Miley Cyrus has revealed details about her relationship with Liam Hemsworth and the reason why they got married. She said that she has doubts about their marriage even taking place, had their house not burned down by the Malibu 2018 wildfires.
Miley and Liam had an almost 10 year on-and off relationship. They got married in December 2018 and seven months later they announced their divorce.
She also admitted that while she’ll “always love” Liam, their relationship was filled with conflict.
During an appearance at The Howard Stern Show she said, “We were together since 16. We had been engaged. I don’t know if we really ever thought we were actually going to get married, but when we lost our house in Malibu…I lost everything.”
“I had so much, and it was all gone,” she went on. “Every song I had ever written was in that house,” she continued. “Every photograph of me that my parents had given to me, all my scripts, I lost everything.”
Miley also confirmed that her new song, WTF Do I Know is about Liam. The lyrics are somewhat confessional about getting married as a distraction.
She said, “Sometimes you miss people more than others, and sometimes things get easier,” she said. “Time kind of heals all, but that was at a time where I felt really strong. And then somedays I don’t.”
