Microsoft reported that its Xbox Series X-shaped mini fridge can be pre-ordered for $99.99 on October 19. It will be available in the U.S., the U.K., and Europe. It will be shipped in December and could reach you or as a gift for your loved ones before the holidays. Target in the U.S. and Game in the U.K. will be its partners. The tech giant said that details for pre-order in Canada will be available soon and that it will be available from the Xbox Gear Shop.
Memes on the Xbox Series X trended on Twitter on its shape and size and Microsoft joined in. It sent real-life Xbox Series X refrigerators to influencers as well as to rapper Snoop Dogg.
In March 2021, the software and hardware company produced mini fridge variants of its Xbox design. It also used it as prizes when a new energy drink was promoted by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Interest in the mini fridge was high. So, Microsoft decided to go all in, after narrowly winning an official Twitter marketing poll. The poll pitted brands against each other and Microsoft won the poll.
It decided to lean in and actually made an announcement at E3 2021. It has joked about the mini fridge’s boxlike shape and also called it “the world’s most powerful mini fridge” that had “Xbox Velocity Cooling Architecture” with puns on the Xbox series as series X has “Velocity Architecture.” The trailer for the mini fridge was amusing and now the actual mini fridge will be a reality in December.
The Xbox mini fridge has slots that can fit in 12 drink cans. It also has two shelves for snacks. There is a USB in front to charge devices. It is portable as it also has a DC power adapter.
