The deal would mark another significant milestone for Microsoft. Microsoft recently agreed to buy Activision Blizzard.
Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) is in talks to buy Mandiant (Nasdaq: MNDT), a cybersecurity firm with a $4.4 billion market cap, reports Bloomberg.
Mandiant is recognized by enterprises, governments, and law enforcement agencies worldwide as the market leader in threat intelligence and expertise gained on the frontlines of cyber security.
In 2013, Mandiant was purchased by a venture capital firm FireEye. FireEye was sold by Mandiant in 2020 when it discovered the SolarWinds cyberattack and sold to Symphony Technology Group for $1.2 billion.
Mandiant would be a great synergy for Microsoft helping clients further protect them from security threats. The company recently reported an annual revenue of $483 million of its FY2021, a number that was up 21 percent year-over-year.
