Danny Wolf scored a season-high 21 points and pulled down 13 rebounds on Saturday to lead Michigan to an 85-74 Big Ten win over Southern California in Los Angeles.

Wolf also had seven assists, six blocks and two assists for Michigan (11-3, 3-0 Big Ten), which also got 16 points from both Tre Donaldson and Nimari Burnett. Roddy Gayle Jr. added 12 points and Vladislav Goldin chipped in 11.

Desmond Claude and Wesley Yates III each scored 19 points and Kevin Patton Jr. tallied 14 points in defeat for USC (9-5, 1-2).

Michigan went 0-for-8 from behind the 3-point line in the second half after going 10-of-16 from 3-point range in the first half but managed to win its third straight.

Trailing 65-63 with 7:33 left in the game, the Wolverines took charge with a 10-0 run and seized an eight-point lead after a three-point play by Burnett with 5:09 remaining.

The Trojans answered by scoring six straight to cut its deficit to 73-71 with 3:23 left, but Goldin and Donaldson each scored four points during another 10-0 surge that gave Michigan an 83-71 lead with 49 seconds remaining.

The Wolverines led 42-38 at halftime and gained some separation by scoring 13 straight early in the second half to go up 55-40. Every point in the run was scored by either Goldin or Wolf.

USC roared back with a 25-8 surge and took a two-point lead on Patton’s layup before Michigan ignited its first 10-point flurry.

In the first half, the Wolverines held a 17-12 advantage before the Trojans pulled even at 22 with 8:46 to go until halftime.

The margin remained within a possession until back-to-back 3-pointers by Will Tschetter and Donaldson gave Michigan a 42-38 lead with 41 seconds left in the first half.

The Wolverines outshot USC 52.7 percent to 43.5 percent for the game and held the Trojans to six 3-pointers on 18 attempts.
