Senior Vladislav Goldin scored a career-high 24 points and Danny Wolf added 20 to rally Michigan to a 67-64 victory over No. 11 Wisconsin in the Big Ten opener for each team on Tuesday night in Madison, Wis.

Max Klesmit’s turnaround jumper from the lane put Wisconsin up 64-61 with 2:37 to play, but the Badgers didn’t score again. Goldin made three consecutive baskets to give Michigan a 67-64 edge with 22.9 seconds left.

Klesmit missed a 3-point attempt, but Michigan’s Roddy Gayle Jr. missed the front end of a 1-and-1 free-throw chance with 6.8 seconds left.

Nolan Winter missed the front end of a 1-and-1 for Wisconsin with 3.2 seconds remaining. Goldin missed a free throw at the other end with 0.6 seconds left, and John Tonje’s desperation heave from beyond halfcourt bounced off the rim at the buzzer.

Tonje had 18 points and John Blackwell added 16 points and nine rebounds for Wisconsin (8-1, 0-1 Big Ten), which came in averaging 85.3 points per game.

Michigan (7-1, 1-0 Big Ten) has won six straight since a 72-70 loss to Wake Forest.

Goldin, a 7-foot-1 graduate transfer from Florida Atlantic, hit 9 of 16 shots. Wolf, a 7-foot transfer from Yale, hit 7 of 11 shots and blocked five shots.

Michigan, which trailed 32-26 at half, charged in front at 40-39 on Goldin’s half-hook from the lane.

Nimari Burnett sank a 3-pointer and Wolf scored underneath to put Michigan up 52-49 as Wisconsin missed eight consecutive shots.

Wisconsin, which entered No. 1 in the nation in free-throw percentage at 86.4 percent, was 14 of 19 (73.7 percent) from the line.

The Badgers went more than 7 1/2 minutes of the first half without a field goal until Steven Crowl scored underneath for a 23-20 lead. Back-to-back dunks by Winter pushed the margin to 29-20.

Michigan went the final 7:42 of the half without a field goal, scoring its final six points from the free-throw line to pull within six points entering the break.
