Jaafar Jackson, Michael Jackson’s 26-year-old nephew, will play The King of Pop in the upcoming biopic “Michael,” directed by Antoine Fuqua. Lionsgate confirmed Jackson’s signing on Monday for the picture, which is being produced by Oscar-winning “Bohemian Rhapsody” producer Graham King.
Jackson is Jermaine Jackson’s second-youngest son. He’s published his own songs, including his debut single, “Got Me Singing,” in 2019. “Michael” will be Jackson’s acting debut.
According to Graham King, the Bohemian Rhapsody producer behind the Jackson biography, Jafaar was cast after a nationwide search. “I met Jaafar over two years ago and was taken away by how organically he personifies Michael’s energy and attitude,” King remarked.
Jaafar posted on Instagram- I’m humbled and honored to bring my Uncle Michael’s story to life. To all the fans all over the world, I’ll see you soon.
