On October 8 at New York Comic Con, Doctor Emmett Brown and Marty McFly came together for one more fast-paced adventure. Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox sat down to talk about their time spent in the DeLorean as part of a “Back to the Future” reunion panel during the convention. The audience erupted in cheers before the performers even took their seats, ecstatic to see the venerable sci-fi heroes reunited 37 years after the original 1985 “Back to the Future” movie.
The performers have kept their close friendship since their time-traveling days. Lloyd attended the A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Cure Parkinson’s charity event in New York City in 2018 to support Fox, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease at the age of 29 in 1991. Even without a DeLorean, Fox and Lloyd’s friendship has endured the test of time as evidenced by their tender hug on the red carpet during the occasion.

During the discussion, Lloyd and Fox made lighthearted jokes about their time spent filming together and their on-the-spot on-set connection. Lloyd responded that it was the first day of shooting when asked about their first encounter. Fox added, “It was the first day of shooting . Actually, you were outside the DeLorean. Here is Chris, the director remarked. Here’s Mike. Go.'” “There was immediate chemistry,” Lloyd continued.
In 1989’s “Back to the Future Part II” and “Back to the Future Part III,” two sequels to the popular original “Back to the Future” movie, Lloyd and Fox starred together (1990). In addition, the series served as an inspiration for the 2015 short film “Doc Brown Saves the World” starring Lloyd, video games, board games, comic books, and Back to the Future: The Ride at Universal Studios in Orlando.
