Lynn Kidd posted 20 points and a game-high 11 rebounds for his third double-double of the season, leading host Miami to a 94-75 win over Presbyterian on Sunday afternoon in Coral Gables, Fla.

Forward Brandon Johnson scored 22 points on 9-for-11 shooting. Reserve Jalen Blackmon scored nine points on 3-for-4 shooting from deep.

Miami (4-7) snapped a seven-game losing streak with its first win since beating Coppin State on Nov. 17.

The slumping Hurricanes broke out by shooting 71.4 percent in the first half, including 4 of 8 on 3-pointers.

Miami was without injured point guard Nijel Pack, who leads the team in scoring (13.9) and assists (4.3). Pack has a foot injury.

The first half, which featured four lead changes and two tie scores, ended with Miami on top, 49-33.

In the first half, Miami outscored Presbyterian in the paint, 30-14, as Kidd scored 14 points on 5-for-5 shooting from the floor and 4-for-5 from the foul line. Johnson added 13 points on 6-for-7 shooting from the field.

The first 10 minutes of the second half were all Miami as the Hurricanes led 76-54, and they cruised from there.

For the game, Miami outscored the Blue Hose 52-36 in the paint.

Up next for Miami, the Hurricanes will play host to Mount St. Mary’s on Saturday. Miami will then start its ACC schedule on Jan. 1 at Boston College.
